Reporting to the Regional Director, Capital Planning & Support Services, the Director, Facility Maintenance, Energy and Environmental Sustainability (Director) is responsible for plant and facility maintenance, energy, and environmental sustainability across the Northern Health (NH) Authority. The Director collaborates with Chief Operating Officers, Health Service Administrators, other managers, and internal customers to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate program services with an emphasis on the coordination of services provided within the region in accordance with NH goals and philosophies and within allocated resources.
Working to promote strategic partnerships for the advancement of efficiencies and the reduction of NH’s carbon footprint, the Director is responsible for the program management of a comprehensive system that includes general environmental, sustainable product procurement, waste elimination, energy and water improvement, and environmental health and quality improvement for NH facilities.
The ideal candidate is a senior professional with years of experience managing a large, diverse portfolio of facility maintenance and energy and environmental sustainability programs within a large complex facility, hospital, institution, and/or industrial/commercial plant. This individual will bring proven expertise in establishing new standards for predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance, re-engineering processes, and implementing continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives. They will also be a strategic, resourceful, innovative, and analytical individual who possesses exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage numerous projects and influence a diverse operation without direct authority.
